King James 02:46
Why is it so easy to forget everything you’ve been taught Like when you leave the nest you’re another being entirely When I left home I found there are things in life that can’t be bought Remember who I used to be, lord ain’t it tiring? But the King James, King James Propping up a table with a wobbly leg I ain’t opened it in hundreds of days Looks like its gonna stay that way The King James, King James Buried under things I meant to throw away It’s in the case of a guitar I don’t play Looks like it’s gonna stay, stay, stay I can’t buy into your universal idea of redemption no There are things you could lose that would never be found When I left home I found there are troubles nobody bothers to mention Disillusioned now, hear these mournful sounds? But the King James, King James Propping up a table with a wobbly leg I ain’t opened it in hundreds of days Looks like its gonna stay that way The King James, King James Buried under things I meant to throw away It’s in the case of a guitar I don’t play Looks like it’s gonna stay, stay, stay

You’d like to make a living You’re happy now just to be employed Take all of your dreams son Hide them with the problems you avoid Money hides all petty crimes Til you’re on the killing floor Then all you get’s your overtime Silly me, turns out that’s what we work for, work for That's what we work for, work for Every job I ever had Has someone who always sounds so bitter For what it’s worth All that blustering can’t keep ‘em warm in winter Help ‘em where you can but boy They always ask for more Break room therapy is their health plan Silly me, turns out that’s what we work for, work for That's what we work for, work for That's what we work for, work for Work for, work for Gotta put the work in Hope you enjoy yourself You’ll still be at it when you’re older But you can sleep at night Knowing you helped to create value for shareholders Still ask the good lord when you pray To help you not be poor Your church wants tithe either way Silly me, turns out that’s what we work for, work for That's what we work for, work for That's what we work for, work for That's what we work for Hey that's what what we work for That's what we work for Hey now that's what we work for

Diaspora 03:40
We were young we had time to kill Sat out smoking on your window sill Getting our fill of love before the world turned real Then your mother came in looking sacrosanct She thinks I’m you’re savior but I’m not a saint I drank all your wine and I broke all the bread you ever baked Well look at me I’m leaving again Walls close in and I run like the wind I’m the master of Diaspora Well I had fresh tread on my restless feet You turned screw girl I couldn’t take the heat There’s honor in defeat let’s take our chances with retreat Cause the world caught up and it left us behind It was nobody’s fault you still said it was mine How petty to persecute a victimless crime Well look at me I’m leaving again Walls close in and I run like the wind I’m the master of Diaspora You know a kerosene soul never gets very far When it comes to a trial by fire Smoke me up just to show where you are On ground only slightly higher Look at me I’m leaving again Walls close in and I run like the wind I’m the master of Diaspora

Well my mother sits and knits While my father spins the yarns No one pulls a thread It could all unravel A tree in need of care But no one cares to garden Like Sisyphus We find another battle And then I’ll wreck it, watch me work It’s all so simple I don’t even need to try When I leave boy I’ll be sure I got no one left, no one left to say goodbye My sister kneads the dough Before she bakes the bread Somehow I always wind up hungry I can never wait So I’ll just starve instead No end to the race I’m always running And then I’ll wreck it, watch me work It’s all so simple I don’t even need to try When I leave boy I’ll be sure I got no one left, no one left to say goodbye My brother bars the door Before he turns the key Don’t matter I’ve always been locked out Strong is just another way To say you’re lonely Can’t get up if You’ve never been knocked out And then I’ll wreck it, watch me work It’s all so simple I don’t even need to try When I leave boy I’ll be sure I got no one left, no one left to say goodbye

Sometimes in life you’re floating along It all seems right still you don’t belong You won’t find out until it’s over You hide your heart you hide your excitement You stay up late and wonder where the night went You won’t find out until it’s over Someone asked me for my sign once I told them a lie But they still knew everything about me I should have friends as a Gemini I promise that I try Still no one knows anything about me Don’t you think it’s time I learned A little something more About me You roll through life thinking you know people When they show you who you are well you better believe ‘em You won’t find out until it’s over And then you got two choices the way I see it Either die alone or let your heart keep bleeding You won’t find out until it’s over Someone asked me for my sign once I told them a lie But they still knew everything about me I should have friends as a Libra I promise that I try Still no one knows anything about me Don’t you think it’s time I learned A little something more About me Could I cover up Should I shut it down Would I wonder all the time Until mg heart is finally found Maybe an ending is the best medicine around The problems in life they just get bigger You’re schlepping to be sold down the river You won’t find out until it’s over You go though life thinking you know how to swim The water starts rising and you’re left wondering You won’t find out until it’s over

Well your life will fall apart if you let it Working for a tiny bit of credit Always hungry in the land of plenty Out of choices before you turn twenty Gotta live with each decision you make Slipping and sliding and praying that the ice won’t break There’s a little dust on everything I own I’ve been living someone else’s life, not mine Mama tell your boy to come on home For the first time I ain’t sure it turns out fine Cold medicine and dreams, such a modern masterpiece It’s a sign of the times Satisfied, never complacent Feeling worse than the potholed pavement Never gave a single thought to the ending Can’t save so we’ll just keep on spending Sleep all day to stay up all night Worshipping ourselves in the glow of the neon light There’s a little dust on everything I own I’ve been living someone else’s life, not mine Mama tell your boy to come on home For the first time I ain’t sure it turns out fine Cold medicine and dreams, such a modern masterpiece It’s a sign of the times We know where we’ve been We recognize the cracks We say we won’t go back Baby we never left There’s a little dust on everything I own I’ve been living someone else’s life, not mine Mama tell your boy to come on home For the first time I ain’t sure it turns out fine Cold medicine and dreams Candy cigarettes and schemes I’m always splitting at the seams Baby I’m a modern masterpiece It’s a sign of the times

Hey I’m ready to go I’ve had my coat on for hours I’m ready to go Just sitting here in my shoes Ready to go I’ve got my keys in my hand And I’m ready to go Ready to find the promised land If it’s not the destination than it’s patience that really hurts I could make it, but how would I know? And I’m tired of hesitation, don’t wanna come up short Don’t want to take it slow, I’m tired of waiting Baby I’m ready to go Hey I’m ready to go A big ol’ engine for an idle mind Ready to go An open road without a soul in sight I’m ready to go I’m learning to walk when I’m ready to run Ready to go No place in mind, just chasing the sun If it’s best to accept your station you gotta learn to live with it first Then all you got left to do is not to blow it And I’m tired of hesitation, don’t wanna come up short Don’t want to take it slow, I’m tired of waiting Baby I’m ready to go If it’s not the destination than it’s patience that really hurts I could make it, but how would I know? And I’m tired of hesitation, don’t wanna come up short Don’t want to take it slow, I’m tired of waiting Baby I’m ready to go

about

'Future, Future, Who Am I?' highlights the band’s contagious hook-filled melodies while keeping true to Haise’s Dylan-esque vocals. With pop undertones and a more indie rock feel than their previous releases, it spotlights their musicianship, vocal harmonies, and cello-laced compositions that will get stuck in your head for days.

The seven unique compositions dive into the subject matters of disillusionment, burnout, voluntary victimhood, self-destruction, feeling misunderstood, worrisome thoughts, and eagerness.
